Wow, what a wild ride these past few years have been, eh? I’m currently writing this from my new home in Austin, Texas. I am beyond excited to be here. This city has been a part-time home for me for over a decade. My family lives here; did you know my sister Molly is an incredible violinist - Assistant Concertmaster of the Austin Symphony? And my brother-in-law Steve is an inspiring artist, musician, and curator here in town, creating countless amazing artistic projects, installations, and events. My parents live nearby as well, and it’s the first time we have all been in one place in over 20 years, since my sister left Alaska. I’m also so excited to be close to my TWO nephews - my sister just had her second baby on New Year’s Eve, and I’m the happiest aunt in the world to get to be close to all of them.
Austin is also an inspiring and vibrant city full of music and artists and new, community-centered and innovative projects - to be honest, I’m intimidated by the cool-factor of most of the artists here, and I can’t wait to create and collaborate more in this city. My mother got me a pair of cowboy boots, so I’m basically ready for my country music career. Right? Right?!
So much has happened since my last blog post, so feel free to peruse my site for some updates…but if you want much more regular updates, I tend to keep my social media updated often: here is my Facebook and here is my Instagram :)
